If you are going to propose to the love of your life, you can either go with a generic ring from a chain jewelry store or you can be a little bit more creative and create a custom engagement ring for them instead. The great thing about creating something that is custom is that it will be unique to them and may be even more sentimental. Here are a few tips make sure that you create a custom ring that represents your fiancé's style.  

Choose a Meaningful Stone

You may think that having a center diamond as your stone is the only way for you to go, but when it comes to choosing a stone, you really have a ton of options. Is there a month in your relationship that's really significant and meaningful to you both? If so, then it may be the perfect birthstone to include in the center. Or, is there a stone that's manful to your fiancé somehow? When you think a little bit outside of the box, you can choose a stone that will make their ring stand out from the rest.

Choose a Setting That Works for Them

You may think that when it comes to making a custom engagement ring that the only way for you to go is to get them a big ring, but that's not the case. In fact, a lot of people end up never wearing their engagement ring because it's too big and doesn't fit into their lifestyle. What does your fiancé do for a living? Are they in the medical field? If so, then having a large ring and setting may not be suitable for their profession, so you will want to keep that in mind. Don't just take their occupation into consideration, though, you should also think of what they do in their spare time. For instance, do they do a lot of weight training? Or do they like to stay active? All of these things will help you choose a setting of a ring that they can wear and will want to wear each and every day. 

Listen to Them

If your fiancé has dropped hints about what kind of ring they want, make sure that you take that into consideration because you want to ensure that they end up with an engagement ring that they absolutely love. If you want a little bit of guidance, then ask their family or close friends for some advice.
