Consider The Type Of Diamond Rings Your Sweetheart Will Want

by Roberta Vasquez

Perhaps you had thought that you and your sweetheart would be shopping for wedding rings together, but your fiancée has told you that she would be happier if you would surprise her with a ring of your choice. As you shop, consider two things. The first thing is how much money you can spend. The second thing is the type of wedding rings you think your sweetheart would pick out for herself if she had the choice.

If You Are On A Limited Budget

Even if you are not able to spend a lot of money on the rings you will purchase, there are still a lot of beautiful options for you. Think of buying a white gold or a yellow gold eternity ring that has tiny diamonds in a row all around the ring. The smaller stones come with a smaller price tag and still make for beautiful wedding rings. Another idea is to select a ring that has a small diamond in an intricate setting that makes the diamond look larger. You might also choose a ring that has one tiny diamond set in a delicate chain-type band. A slim traditional wedding band would be a perfect companion piece. Choose a band that will complement the engagement ring band.

Another idea is to give your fiancé antique wedding rings. Maybe your grandmother or somebody else in the family has a beautiful set of antique diamond wedding rings that they would love to give to your sweetheart. If that's not an option, check out estate sales and antique shops for exquisite diamond rings that will serve as an engagement ring and as a wedding ring.

When Money Isn't An Issue

Maybe you are in a position to buy expensive wedding rings. Obviously, your choices are greater.

If your fiancée loves traditional style clothing, that will probably mean she'd love traditional style wedding rings. A large white diamond in a solitaire setting might be the perfect choice. Add interest to the engagement ring by choosing a band that has an elaborate design.

Maybe your sweetheart loves jewelry that presents itself in a dramatic way. If that's the case, a large colored diamond with smaller white diamonds surrounding it would be beautiful. Colored diamonds, also known as fancy diamonds, make the ring—and your fiancée—stand out.

Think of also purchasing jewelry cleaner to give to your fiancée at the right time. That will mean that she'll have the right product to make her diamond wedding rings pick up the light.

When you're ready to start looking for the perfect diamond ring for your sweetheart, look at jewelers in your area.
